## The short answer

**Budget about £300 for our recommended Top Cat starting setup.** Our 2 October 2026 UK basket was £290 for components plus £6.49 displayed delivery: **£296.49 total**.

This includes a 2.15–2.60 m pole, scratching rope, two steps, a cushioned platform and a pot. Suitable ceiling fixing is required; professional fitting and extra site-specific fixings are not included.

The pole is the beginning of the shopping list. It is not much of a cat tree on its own. Here are three complete parts baskets, so you can budget for somewhere to climb, scratch and rest.

These were in-stock baskets at the time of checking. The prices are a dated planning reference, not a live quote: pole height, colour, offers, delivery address and accessory choices can change the total. No voucher or newsletter discount is included.

## Top Cat: the balanced starting point

**This is the basket we would price first for an active cat.** The steps make a more developed climbing route than the single-platform Beginner arrangement, while the base rope adds a scratching surface.

Top Cat components: 2.15–2.60 m pole and woven yellow cushions

__Top Cat components: 2.15–2.60 m pole and woven yellow cushions__
| Component | Quantity | Unit price | Line total |

The pot accounts for £14 of the goods total. If you do not want it, building the same component list without it would be £276 before delivery at these unit prices. That is arithmetic, not a separately checked delivered basket or a promise that a named kit can be edited in place.

For the buying verdict, layout and upkeep trade-offs, read our [Omlet Freestyle review](https://www.catstandard.co.uk/omlet-freestyle-cat-tree-review/).

## Beginner: the lower-cost scratching and resting setup

The £196 goods basket contains the same £109 pole, £17 base rope kit and a £70 bamboo platform with a woven blue cushion and bracket. Displayed delivery brought it to £202.49.

Choose this when one accessible resting platform and a scratching surface cover the job. There are no intermediate steps in this basket, so position the platform where your cat can comfortably reach it. Buying the simpler version only saves money if it supplies the route your cat actually needs.

## Two poles and a bridge: what the upgrade costs

Adding a second £109 pole and a £77 bamboo bridge with woven grey cushion and two brackets to Top Cat brings the goods total to £476\. Our checked basket showed £6.49 delivery and a £482.49 total.

**This is a custom parts basket, not a named Omlet kit or a room design.** Both poles need their specified attachments. The bridge manual requires the poles to be exactly 75.5 cm apart using its illustrated assembly geometry. Check the [bridge and pole instructions](https://www.omlet.co.uk/shop/cat%5Fproducts/freestyle-floor-to-ceiling-cat-tree-uk/support/?ref=catstandard.co.uk) before deciding where the structure can go.

The extra £186 buys a second support and connecting route, not a second complete collection of beds and scratching accessories. Add those costs only if you need those components. A second pole should earn its place in the room.

## How to reproduce the basket

1. Open the indoor Freestyle configurator and choose the pole height that matches your ceiling. Our figures use 2.15–2.60 m.
2. Select the Top Cat or Beginner example, or build the component list above. Match the cushion colours as well as the platform and step choices.
3. For the two-pole example, add the second pole and the bridge with cushion and both brackets. Follow the manufacturer’s layout instructions.
4. Inspect the basket’s itemised list. Confirm that the correct brackets and pole fixing pack are included.
5. Enter your delivery postcode and compare the final total before paying.

## Costs outside the component basket

**Installation is the main unpriced item.** The included fixing pack does not establish that your ceiling or wall is suitable. Any additional substrate-specific fixings, tools, professional fitting or permission-related reinstatement costs depend on the home. We have not invented a flat installation allowance.

Later replacements depend on use. The supplied system is not a subscription, but cushions and scratching surfaces can wear. Keep the component names with the receipt and use the [replacement-parts guide](https://www.catstandard.co.uk/cat-tree-replacement-posts-pads/) when something needs changing. There is no evidence here for a fixed annual replacement budget.

Before pricing a replacement, check whether [the correct cleaning method](https://www.catstandard.co.uk/how-to-clean-cat-tree/) will do the job. The parts guide now distinguishes the Top Cat base-kit rope from the separate post wrap and identifies a matching platform cushion.

## Check before paying

- Correct pole range, suitable fixing surfaces and a practical climbing route.
- Exact component quantities, cushion choices, brackets and fixing pack.
- Usable resting space for your cat and the whole structure’s overhang.
- Postcode delivery, current stock and [return conditions](https://www.omlet.co.uk/misc/returns/?ref=catstandard.co.uk).

## Where we would spend the money

**Start by pricing Top Cat. Choose Beginner if you only need the low, accessible scratch-and-rest arrangement; add a second pole when you have a clear connecting route for it.** The worthwhile upgrade is the one your cat can use, rather than the one that makes the basket look more complete.

Before finalising the component basket, use the [sizing worksheet](https://www.catstandard.co.uk/cat-tree-size-guide/) to check the room, usable resting spaces and intended fixing positions.

## Sources and price basis

Component lists and delivered totals come from our UK Omlet basket checks on 2 October 2026\. The Top Cat basket was refreshed during preparation of this guide. Unit prices reconcile to those basket totals; the optional no-pot amount is labelled as arithmetic. Installation geometry comes from Omlet’s indoor-system manuals.
