Francois the kitten makes a full recovery and finds a home

A kitten treated for severe eye ulcers at Battersea has made a full recovery and settled into a new home.

Francois, a kitten who arrived at Battersea with severe eye ulcers, has made a full recovery after seven weeks of intensive care and moved into a new home.

Battersea said on 25 September that Francois came into its care earlier this year with chronic cat flu. The ulcers were painful and threatened his sight, so the charity’s veterinary team began a demanding treatment routine.

Laura, from the veterinary team, and Sara, from Battersea’s Animal Partnerships team, fostered him in turn. They gave him eye drops every two hours while making sure he had somewhere calm to recover. This is the sort of schedule that makes “every two hours” feel less like a measurement and more like a personality.

After seven weeks, Battersea says Francois had recovered fully. He is now living with a new family, where the charity reports that he has settled into the more agreeable kitten timetable of cuddles, toys and sleep.
