Hemingway the rescue cat finds a new home

The young cat with extra toes has been adopted after care from Alley Cat Allies, which shared his story on 22 October.

Hemingway, a young rescue cat with extra toes, has found a new home, according to Alley Cat Allies. The US organisation confirmed his adoption in an account published on 22 October.

He came into its care after being rescued from an abusive home. The team arranged veterinary treatment and gave him time to recover.

His carers describe a cat who quickly became comfortable with new surroundings and people, and was soon purring in their company. That affectionate side emerged while he was in the organisation’s care.

The extra toes gave him his name: polydactyl cats are also known as Hemingway cats.
