A cat tree can wear out one part at a time. Before replacing the lot, identify the worn component and check whether its maker supplies a proper match. “Looks about right” is a particularly unhelpful specification for something holding a cat above the floor.

Identify the furniture and the worn part
Find the furniture model on its label, order confirmation or instructions. Record its finish or version, then identify the worn part’s position on the assembly diagram. Posts in different positions can have different lengths.
Keep three kinds of purchase separate:
- A whole post: includes the component that connects sections of the furniture.
- A surface wrap: refreshes a covering while keeping its intended support.
- A cushion or pad: attaches to a particular platform or holder.
Replacing a worn surface cannot repair a damaged support underneath it. Check both before ordering.
What must match?
Record a post’s length, diameter and both ends, including projecting fixings or threaded sockets. The replacement must match the connection and supporting role as well as the thread label.
Use the maker’s approved part reference, especially for supports. If you cannot find it, send the manufacturer the model, part position and photographs of both ends, and ask for the correct replacement.
For a pad, match the outline, specified thickness, cut-outs and attachment points. Hook-and-loop patches, holes or straps need to line up; pads in different positions may differ.
Verified replacement examples
Match the reference as well as the name. The rope and platform-cushion examples below were checked against Omlet’s component listings on 2 October 2026; the earlier Catit and wrap examples were checked on 13 September 2026. Use the purchase links for current prices and delivery.

Match the component reference before buying. A wrap is not a replacement supporting post.
| Part | Documented fit | Availability / check |
|---|---|---|
| Catit Vesper 8 × 40 cm replacement post | Part 52178, listed for the base model in the manufacturer’s parts map. The UK part page confirms the match. | UK purchase offer checked. Amazon identifies 52178BQ with the matching 52178 GTIN. Do not substitute a different post length. |
| Catit Vesper 28 × 56 cm replacement cushion | Part 52157. The UK compatibility list identifies it as a top cushion for the Base, High Base and High Base XL models, attached with hook-and-loop tape. | Orderable on Amazon, but a later delivery window was shown. The UK manufacturer store also showed availability. |
| Omlet Freestyle replacement post wrap | Part 055.0021. Omlet identifies it as the covering for its Freestyle Scratching Post; the indoor support parts list identifies the matching system. | In stock at Omlet when checked. This refreshes the surface; it is not the post body or a general-purpose rope kit. |
| Omlet Freestyle indoor bridge and ramp wrap | Grey indoor part 055.0053.0001, intended for the Freestyle bridge or ramp. Check the model support instructions for attachment. | In stock at Omlet when checked. Keep the full suffix: the separately listed outdoor version has a different reference. |
| Omlet Freestyle replacement scratching rope | Part 055.0034. Omlet links this rope from its vertical-pole base kit 055.0030, the kit used in our Top Cat basket. It replaces the worn rope while retaining sound kit hardware. | For the rope-kit route, not post wrap 055.0021. The base kit is not for the pole’s narrow top extending section. Check the component and follow its assembly instructions. |
| Omlet Freestyle woven platform cushion — grey | Part 055.0051.0001, for the Freestyle platform with six toggle attachments. A grey replacement option for the platform, rather than the steps, bridge or hammock. | Our Top Cat example uses yellow cushions. This link deliberately selects grey; match the platform and attachment, then choose the colour you want. |
Catit Vesper 8 × 40 cm replacement post
Buy for: the 52178 position in the matching parts list.
Check: the UK maker calls the covering seagrass; Amazon’s description calls it sisal. The reference and GTIN establish the listed match, but confirm the covering with the seller if that distinction matters. The manufacturer says the assembly tool is not included.
Catit Vesper 28 × 56 cm replacement cushion
Buy for: the approved 52157 top-cushion position.
Check: the part code and manufacturer dimensions. Amazon’s generic dimension field differs, so do not use it to identify the pad. Confirm the delivery date before ordering; compare the UK manufacturer listing if you need it sooner.
Omlet Freestyle replacement post wrap
Buy for: refreshing the intended scratching post’s covering while retaining a sound post body.
Check: part 055.0021 against the existing component. It is not a repair for a loose or damaged supporting structure.
Omlet Freestyle indoor bridge and ramp wrap
Buy for: the indoor bridge or ramp surface specified by Omlet.
Check: grey part 055.0053.0001. A similarly named outdoor wrap is not the same listed variant.
For our Top Cat configuration: start with replacement rope 055.0034 if the original base-kit fittings are sound. Post wrap 055.0021 is a different component. Use the itemised Top Cat basket to identify what was included, then compare it with your own order.
What if there is no verified spare?
For the Feandrea 160 cm PCT003N01, we have not verified a separately orderable UK replacement post, perch cover or cave pad. The listing’s removable-cover description does not establish that spares are sold. Send the seller or manufacturer the model, order reference, part position from the assembly sheet and photographs. Ask for the exact approved component before considering a universal listing.
The same identification process applies to an older Feandrea PCT121W01 or Trixie Baza cream. We have not verified their exact UK supporting-post or bed replacements either. An absence from our checked sources does not prove the manufacturer cannot supply one.
Ask whether the part is temporarily out of stock, discontinued or available on request. Wait for the right part if needed, keeping an insecure structure out of use.
For an unconfirmed supporting part, ask the manufacturer before doing any work. Do not change structural dimensions, drill new fixing points or substitute hardware using this guide.
Price the repair as a complete job
Add the part, delivery, any maker-specified tools or fixings, and any fitting help required. Check the condition of the rest of the tree before deciding that a low spare price makes repair worthwhile.
A worn cushion on otherwise sound furniture is a different purchase from several damaged posts and a cracked base. Use the repair-or-replace checklist to make that distinction. If replacement of the whole item is justified, our cat-tree buying guide includes cleaning access and spares in the comparison.
For a larger replacement, use our large-cat tree shortlist, then check the room and resting-space measurements. If you are considering a modular system, the Omlet Freestyle review explains when its flexibility earns the extra cost.
After fitting the correct part
Follow the maker’s assembly sequence and checks before allowing use. Keep the remaining instructions and part reference with the order record. A note now can save another evening trying to identify a beige cylinder.
Use our cat-tree cleaning guide for the next routine clean, and browse Scratchers & play for the wider setup.
Sources and matching
Parts maps, UK component listings and purchase links checked 13 September 2026. Match the stated component and model, then confirm stock before ordering. See our editorial standards .
Added on 2 October 2026: Omlet’s base-kit compatibility description, its linked replacement rope, and the platform-cushion parts reference. Feandrea identification refers to PCT003N01, not a claimed spare match. The new component routes were checked to the stated Omlet destinations; confirm current stock before ordering.
